Glenn Picquet

Executive Director

Born and raised on a South Texas cotton farm in Kingsville, Glenn Picquet's journey from humble beginnings led him to earn an honors B.S. degree in Natural Gas Engineering from Texas A&I University in 1972. Soon after commencing his career with Conoco in West Texas, he shifted to Albany, where he joined forces with C. E. Jacobs in 1975. Together, they meticulously managed, developed, and operated a vast collection of oil and gas interests, spanning numerous states and even breaching international borders.From 1986 onwards, Glenn took on the mantle of overseeing their joint portfolio of assets, including bank accounts, equities, real estate, energy, farm and ranch, and diverse investment types. Throughout the 90s, he undertook a concerted effort to diversify the portfolio, strategically decreasing the emphasis on new oil and gas investments. A highlight of his career came in 2010, when he joined a consortium to purchase and still co-owns the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball club. Presently, he holds a directorial role at FNB Albany/Breckenridge and has served numerous civic and professional organizations, including the Albany City Council and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Glenn and his wife, Brenda, have been Albany residents for 47 years, raising their three grown children - Blake, Michelle, and Robin.

Blake Picquet

Blake, a driven entrepreneur and engineer at heart, currently heads CUE Audio while also stewarding his family office in West Texas, a quaint town rich with their familial history. This next chapter is marked by a commitment to honor his parents' legacy, especially his father's work started half a century ago in the oil and gas industry, while ushering the family office into a new growth phase. Blake's global experiences have enriched his appreciation for diversity and honed his conviction to pursue passion over traditional employment. Although still intrigued by engineering, his primary focus has now shifted to the dynamic startup ecosystem. His leadership at CUE yields valuable insights into founders' challenges, fueling the growth of their portfolio through strategic early-stage investments.

Outside the professional realm, Blake's multifaceted interests encompass travel, kiteboarding, wake foiling, and photography. An enthusiastic aviator, he constantly scans the horizon for his next skyward adventure. Given the chance to clone himself, he confesses he would relish the opportunity to rekindle his love for golf. With his unique blend of professional commitments and personal interests, Blake embodies the essence of living life passionately, constantly seeking balance and the thrill of the new.
